Restaurant patrons in Louisiana may soon be allowed to keep their concealed weapons on the while dining, if House Bill 72 makes it past the desk of Republican Governor Bobby Jindal.

The bill, which passed the Louisiana house 79-19 in April, would allow concealed weapons permit holders to retain their weapons while in restaurants that serve alcohol. The same bill would also allow off-duty law enforcement officers to possess concealed firearms while in bars and pubs.

According to this May 14 Washington Post article, Governor Jinadal is expected to sign the bill into law.
